With the term private label rights being constantly thrown around, it’s no wonder that so many people want to know what they are. Like so many things, it’s just a fancy way to say a pretty simple thing. Private label rights (commonly referred to as PLR) refer to the rights to change or sell something and put your own name on them. Though there can be restrictions on what these rights do or don’t allow you to do, they universally allow you to resell or redistribute under your own name and make changes.

So now that you know what they are, what can you do with them? The good news is that there is a done of things that you can do with PLR media to earn money, ranging from easy tactics to more advanced strategies. Here are a few examples, just to give an idea and get your creative juices flowing.

1. Research – if you want to learn a lot about a given topic quickly, Private Label Rights can be a great way to go, simply because you can pick whatever media you like best and will learn quickest from. The one caveat to this is to find a good source, because learning from poorly written PLR does you no good. This is one of the reasons that membership sites are good to find; you can always trust the source of the information and products.

2. Direct Resale – this method is great if you already have a mailing list or other consumer base. It takes very little time or effort, and generates fantastic profit margins. The two main things to watch out for are to make sure that the product is very high quality, and to make sure that you have to systems in place for customer support of whatever product you are reselling. Nothing is worse than finding out there is a programming bug when you don’t know how to program!

3. Make your own – a more advanced method that requires some time, you can alter whatever Private Label Rights products you have to improve them, and charge more. While this is unquestionably the best method, it takes the most time and requires a large consumer base to ensure that the time invested is paid for. Also be careful that you don’t overcharge for something you improved, refunds don’t do you any good!
