Your liver has some very specific function that relate to weight loss.
1. Your liver is the principal fat burning organ in body. It’s your liver which converts stored fat into energy your body can use.
If your liver dysfunctional, stands to reason that you can’t burn fat efficiently and it becomes almost impossible to lose weight.
2. Your liver is the main detoxifying organ of the body. Today as never before your liver is tested to it’s limits by the huge numbers of toxic chemicals in our food, water and environment.
A healthy liver can deal with all these different chemical as long as you take care not to over load it to extremes with toxins
However if your liver is not function correctly or you expose it to, too many toxins, the liver won’t be able to cope and toxins will enter the bloodstream.
Most of these toxins are fat soluble so your body next emergency line of defense it to store these toxins in your adisoal fat cells were they are harmless.
The problem arise when you try to burn off those fat stores. Your body is very reluctant to burn this fat because this would release the toxins back into an already toxic system.
This makes it almost impossible to lose weight because your body is fighting against you.
3. A healthy liver also produces a liter of bile everyday any excess fat in your liver is excreted with this bile via the digestive system.
The bile is necessary for the correct metabolism of fat and also stimulates peristaltic action the small muscle movements that push digesting food though the digestive tract.
If your liver make insufficient or poor quality bile you cannot metabolism fats probably and you will probably suffer with constipation.
If your food does not pass though the gut quick enough it will ferment and produce toxins which will put additional stain on the liver thus the vicious circle continues.
4. Your liver also manufacture and store a substance called glycogen for it own use and to produce glucose to help maintain body sugar level.
If your body drops below the norm and your liver is unable to respond by producing glucose on demand the will have to demand food to make a short fall. Resulting in sugar cravings and food binges.
5. If your liver is unhealthy one of the most common symptoms is fatigue. As exercise is crucial to the weight loss process feeling exhausted all of the time, isn’t good for your weight lose endeavors.
It’s important to keep your liver in tip top condition if you want to lose weight.
