Pineapple Palm Tree Centerpiece Instructions

Themed centerpieces are an easy way to add to the décor of any party. Many materials, such as flowers, candles and confetti, can create beautiful centerpieces. Fresh fruit can also make a beautiful centerpiece. Pineapple palm tree centerpieces are fitting decorations for tropical themed parties or a fruit display on a buffet table.

Base

Screw two 25-inch long wooden dowels that are 1 inch in diameter onto a wooden circle that is 20 inches in diameter so that they are sticking up at opposing angles. One wooden dowel should be 6 inches to the right of the center of the circle, and the other 6 inches to the left of the center, to keep the weight balanced. Place this stand on the table that the centerpiece will be located on before you start to add the pineapples. After you add the pineapples, the centerpiece may be too heavy to move, or the move may cause it to tip over.

Assembling the Pineapples

Cut the tops and bottoms off 8 pineapples. Cut the core out of each pineapple, leaving the skin and about an inch of meat intact. Stick 3 thin wooden dowels half way into the meat of 6 of the pineapples. Make 2 stacks of 3 pineapples each by placing the pineapples on top of each other, pushing them down onto the wooden dowels in the pineapple below. Place a pineapple with no wooden dowels on top of each stack, pushing it down on the previous pineapple’s dowels.

Putting It All Together

Slide each stack of 4 pineapples down on the thicker dowels on your centerpiece stand.

Gather two bunches of fake palm leaves together at the bottoms of the leaves. Place one bunch in the top of each pineapple stack to form a palm tree. Arrange the leaves so that they are even all the way around.

Cover the base of the centerpiece with plastic wrap. Arrange fresh fruit on top of the base for guests to enjoy.
