Mentalism is an art much like magic, only in mentalism, you present a facade that you have the gift of mind reading and precognition. Magicians in their shows use mentalism. Here are some mentalism magic activities that you could engage in.

Tarot Card Reading

This is a trick that you can learn through constant practice. Let someone select a card and you would guess what card the participant choose.

How you can predict: The cards are arranged in a particular manner in which when the participant cuts the cards the the two cards at the bottom is always 15 or 14.

Coin Prediction

Let the participant chooses from your set of coins which are placed in three envelopes, and then mind-read what he chooses and even what lands first whether it’s head or tails.

How you can predict: This is a trick, found in the lining of the envelopes. You create a second pseudo envelope, which when inserted in the third envelope is unnoticeable. You open the envelope whichever you want to predict. In the two other envelopes, you should arrange the coins in such a way that when flipped, they would land all in the same side.

Picture viewing

The participant draws a picture and then you will reveal what he has drawn. You do this by using a thin clipboard to anchor the drawing paper.

How you can predict: Inside that clipboard is a carbon paper, which makes copy of what the participant has drawn. You should let the participant use a stubby pencil, so he will have to press harder when drawing and this would allow an impression with the carbon paper. You can now view the drawing when the clipboard gets back to you.

Wallet Watch and Coin

Ask the participant to place his wallet, watch, and coin in any of his pockets. You will then guess which one is in each pocket. This is similar to coin prediction.
